Accessibility

Access comes before decorative treatment.

Our website baseline is Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing practice involving design, content, testing, feedback and remediation—not a one-time claim.

How we design

Predictable, readable and inclusive by default.

Clear structure

Meaningful headings, short paragraphs, plain English and descriptive links support easier navigation.

Keyboard access

Interactive controls should be operable without a mouse and show a visible focus state.

Responsive reflow

Content is designed to adapt across screen sizes and increased zoom without hiding essential information.

More than colour

Colour is not used as the only way to communicate meaning, state, error or required action.

Our current position

This rebuilt website is being tested against the approved accessibility baseline. We do not claim formal conformance until implemented pages and journeys have completed appropriate testing. Known problems will be prioritised according to their impact on access and task completion.

Help us improve

If you find content difficult to access, tell us which page or task caused difficulty, the device or assistive technology used where you are comfortable sharing it, and the format or adjustment that would help. We will review the issue and offer a reasonable alternative where possible.

  • Keyboard navigation and visible focus
  • Page headings, landmarks and meaningful link text
  • Image alternatives and decorative-image treatment
  • Form labels, instructions and error messages
